CAMP

CAMP

                                          1989, Monday, August 7

"Well, the children are off to camp. Record low temp last night 49, only 70 today. The children will have some cold nights at camp. I miss them."

Wow..this camp was in Indianapolis! 70 degrees? Wow and low of 49 degrees? My 2 oldest went, Jessica and Rickie I am SO GRATEFUL for the Christian camps that my children went to! I thank God for all those workers and for all those who sponsor children to go! You have no idea how VITAL this ministry is and the IMPACT that it has on children! How great your reward will be in Heaven!
What are your memories of camp?

Videos..

                     July 19, 1989 Wed.
"Well, it is nice to be off. Rain, rain, rain all day.
I got the children some cartoon videos,
Chip & Dale, Superman and Mickey Mouse."

As I read this, I had to think back...hmm videos.
No DVD's back than. Wow, what changes!
These were officially called a VHS cassette tape that played in a  VCR
I still have some of those! And we still have a VCR player.
I also thought  about  the ages of my children than...
Jessica- 10 years old. Rickie- 9 years old. Angela- 1 year old.
They have all changed so much from that time.
Jessica - 40 years old. Rickie- 39 years old. Angela -31 years old.
(*added: Tabitha-23 years old)
How good God has been to us. He has not changed His love, mercy and grace to us!

Cartoons sure have changed!
Superman (1938) and Mickey Mouse (1928) have changed!
Chip and Dale (1947) , I just read will be "rebooted " in 2019.
Days, months and years bring changes. Technology is exploding all around us.
Will this be a benefit or will  it be a detriment to our society?
What changes are coming in my life?
What changes are coming to yours?
I can rest on this, that Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever.

Where Are The Missing Commandments?

Where Are The Missing Commandments?

I am fed up! Tired of hearing it! Mad! If I hear another report about taking the Ten Commandments down again, I’ll just…just scream! Then the Lord spoke to my heart… For every one that has been taken down, 1000 should have taken its place!
Why hasn’t every God-fearing, Bible believing Christian in America posted their own Ten Commandments in their yards? Why hasn’t every God-fearing Bible believing church in America put up their own Ten Commandment monument outside on their own property?

Here are 3 extreme reasons why we must replace what has been torn down…

The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
Psalm 119:130

…for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Psalm 138:2

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Galatians 3:24

Every single person who walks by and reads those words receives light! Every man who gazes upon it receives understanding. Every woman reading those words is being taught by the very Lawgiver Himself! Every child would clearly understand right from wrong.

From the website Adherents.com: Here are the top ten religious bodies and their memberships:

1. Roman Catholic Church: 66,407,105 (2002)
2. Southern Baptist Convention: 16,400,000 (2003)
3. United Methodist Church: 8,251,042 (2002)
4. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: 5,503,192 (2003)
5. Evangelical Lutheran Church in America: 5,038,066 (2002)
6. Church of God in Christ: 5,000,000 (1991)
7. Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.): 3,595,259 (2001)
8. National Baptist Convention of America: 3,500,000 (1987)
9. Assemblies of God: 2,687,366 (2002)
10. Lutheran Church –Missouri Synod: 2,512,714 (2003)

Approximately 119 MILLION people here in this list claim membership to a church body! Let’s just divide that by half and that would be 59.5 MILLION people that could take a stand for the Ten Commandments. Wouldn’t you like to see that many Ten Commandments signs in those yards? And what about the church property itself?
WHERE are the missing Commandments?

Ever had a pet Cockatiel?

May 10, 1999
Monday.
Slept  off and on all morning and afternoon. Tabitha gets into everything. Picked up Angela and we went to the library to find books on her report- Cockatiels. She worked  a lot on it tonight, outline and writing out the rough draft.

May 11, 1999
Tuesday
Work from 8:45 to 2:45 on D hall as a Q. I stay quite busy. I am working on trying to pass these meds. as quickly as I can. Picked up Tabitha first and than Angela. Went to Office Depot to run off pictures for her report. Finished writing her rough draft tonight. She now has to write it out very neatly. We also took pictures of our bird. They will be ready Wed, after 4:00. Hopefully they will come out.

As I looked back on these 2  posts...several thoughts came to my mind.
We had no cell phones than! I did not have a computer
We did research at the library! We took a picture of our bird with a CAMERA..no, not the one on a cell phone! It was taken on a regular old -fashioned camera with film and it needed to be developed!
Angela's' report had to be neatly written in cursive!
It was very interesting to own a Cockatiel. Birds are cool! Our bird was a male. He squawked and squawked when someone knocked on the front door! He always tried to peck me when I would put  food in his cage. I would scold him and say..."why do you always try to bite the hand that feeds you"?

Tabitha was lost!

2015  Saturday, January 17

"Wow- what a day and how a day can change. Tabitha was lost about an hour. Called the police- they found her behind the house. She was soaking wet and scared and shaky. Thank you Lord."

Oh, how I remember that day! It was in the afternoon. The day was actually warm. The grandchildren were playing outside  and so was Tabitha. I was at my daughter's house. My 2 daughters and their husbands and children, (they all have 5 at home right now)  and my husband and I and Tabitha all live on 18 acres of land. Actually, about 6 acres of land is cleared , where are houses are. I remember yelling and yelling Tabitha's name...and no answer. The worst feeling in the world. I remember praying FERVENTLY. I really learned the true understanding of the verse about the effectual fervent prayer... that day.
I am so grateful that Tabitha was found that day. I thank God.

NOTE: The Sheriff's Department has a program called, Project Life Saver. A tracking device is attached to her ankle and transmits a signal to the the Sheriff's Department. We were unaware of this program when Tabitha was lost that day. Today she wears her anklet every day.
